About Nicole
Thoughtful Travel Starts with Thoughtful Planning
I’m Nicole (Nikki) Lindberg, a Virtuoso-affiliated travel advisor based in Minneapolis. I specialize in river cruises, expedition and small-ship travel, and custom European itineraries designed around curiosity, culture, and a pace that leaves room to truly experience a place.
Travel has taken me to more than 25 countries, but what matters more than the number is how I travel. I believe the best journeys aren’t measured by how many landmarks you check off, but by the moments that stay with you long after you return home.
Whether that’s lingering over dinner in a family-run trattoria, standing quietly in front of a masterpiece you’ve studied for years, or watching humpback whales surface beside a small expedition ship, those experiences deserve thoughtful planning.
A Different Perspective
Before becoming a travel advisor, I built a career in the arts.
I earned degrees in Communications and Art History, managed art galleries, directed marketing and communications for an arts center, and organized major art festivals in both Michigan and Minnesota. Those experiences taught me how to tell stories, manage complex logistics, and appreciate the history and culture that give places their identity.
Today, they shape the way I plan travel.
When I recommend a neighborhood in Florence or suggest spending an extra day in Athens instead of rushing to the next destination, it’s because I understand the context that makes those places meaningful, not because they’re popular on social media.
Why Clients Choose to Work With Me
I intentionally focus my practice on a handful of specialties rather than trying to be everything to everyone.
My expertise includes:
- River cruising
- Expedition and small-ship travel
- Custom Europe itineraries
I continually invest in firsthand travel, industry education, and relationships with trusted partners around the world so I can offer informed recommendations tailored to each client’s priorities.
My Planning Philosophy
I believe travel should feel enriching, not exhausting.
That means creating itineraries with realistic pacing, balancing guided experiences with independent exploration, and leaving room for the unexpected discoveries that often become the most memorable parts of a trip.
I also believe there is rarely one “perfect” answer. My role is to help you understand your options, weigh the tradeoffs, and make confident decisions based on how you like to travel.
More Than a Booking
Working with me means having an advisor who researches carefully, communicates openly, and remains invested in your experience from the first conversation through your return home.
I intentionally limit the number of trips I plan at one time so I can provide the level of attention and support that custom travel deserves.
If you’re looking for a partner to help design a journey that’s thoughtful, well-paced, and deeply personal, I’d be delighted to help.
